Frederick Lyle (Fred)
Licensed Real Estate Sales Agent – REALTOR®
A native of central New Jersey, Fred became a police officer in 1980, joining the Plainsboro Township Police Department in Middlesex County. During his career, he served in the Patrol, Juvenile and Detective Bureaus, as well as Community Policing and Crime Prevention Duties.
Fred led the Department’s efforts when named the “Crime Prevention Unit of the Year” by the New Jersey Crime Prevention Officers Association, and served as a part-time Instructor with the New Jersey Regional Community Policing Institute.
Fred is a Charter member of Plainsboro Twp. PBA Local 319, serving on the Executive Board at its inception. Fred served as President of Local 319 from 1987 to 1994, leading the organization through a period of tremendous growth and change. Fred also earned a Business Administration Degree from Thomas Edison State College (1997).
Fred retired from Plainsboro after being offered an opportunity to direct Child Passenger Safety Training and Grant Administration Programs with the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety in Trenton, NJ, and served in that position until moving to Naples, Florida, in January 2014.
Fred continues to work as a Child Passenger Safety Technician/Instructor (CPST/I) with the Florida Occupant Protection Resource Center, and as a volunteer with Safe Kids Southwest Florida based at the Golisano Children’s Hospital in Naples.
After several years of working to rehabilitate their new home, Fred’s wife, Joan, and a family friend convinced him to embark on a new career in Real Estate. This was based on a prior part-time Real Estate job in New Jersey, and his knowledge of what was involved in renovating homes and sorting through various contractors and trades. He was soon getting calls from neighbors asking for info on the various people he now knew.
Another key factor is his great appreciation for the community of Naples and surrounding areas. Southwest Florida, also known as the “Paradise Coast,” boasts tropical Gulf beaches, a great variety of golf courses, and any type of restaurant you could want! Spring training baseball, minor league hockey, live theater and concerts, or an airboat ride through the Everglades! (These are just a few of the seasonal activities to enjoy.)
Major sports are within a few hours' drive, whether it is to Miami for the Dolphins or Marlins, or Tampa for the Buccaneers or Rays, perhaps your favorite team will be on the visitors’ side soon. World-famous Sebring Raceway, space launches, and the Orlando theme parks are a day trip away!
Call me so we can get started soon! I know you will enjoy the Southwest Florida Paradise that I now happily call home!
